Brittany Martin has dedicated her life to making a positive impact of the lives of those around her. From her early experiences as a CASA volunteer to her own successful business, Aim to Inspire Meliorism, Brittany has become a driving force in her community.
After completing her studies in psychology at Kansas State University, she discovered her interest in child and social welfare through her volunteer work as a CASA advocate. This experience ignited her desire to advocate for children and families facing challenging circumstances. Brittany’s commitment led her to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where she worked for two years in the Department of Social Services, focusing on economic services. Her responsibilities included assisting families with daycare subsidies and food stamp recertification, striving to keep families intact and support foster parents with after-school daycare. These experiences further solidified her dedication to social welfare.
In 2018, Brittany returned to her hometown of Garden City, Kansas, and joined the Department of Children and Families as a child protection specialist, where she would eventually take on a supervisor role. In 2021, Brittany decided to pursue her vision of prevention and personalized assistance. She founded Aim to Inspire Meliorism, a business dedicated to empowering individuals and bridging the gaps in social welfare. The name itself reflects her belief that positive change is possible through human effort.
Initially, Aim to Inspire Meliorism focused on supervised visitations and parenting plans. However, Brittany’s desire to make a broader impact led her to shift towards community liaison services. Through this, she assists individuals, especially those new to the community or with limited awareness of available services, in connecting with resources and agencies. Brittany fills the gaps left by other businesses by providing personalized support, breaking down language barriers, and ensuring clients understand complex paperwork. She can do this because unlike agencies where she worked for in the past, she has the flexibility and discretion to focus more on each individual case.
One of the essential aspects of Brittany’s work is assisting individuals who don’t speak English. By employing translation systems and visiting clients’ homes, she ensures effective communication. Aim to Inspire Meliorism primarily serves Spanish-speaking clients, but Brittany also works with Ethiopian and Eritrean speaking individuals as well. Her aim is to provide the necessary resources and support for individuals to navigate the challenges they face.
Brittany’s motivation for starting her own business stems from her desire to provide individuals with the time and knowledge they need to improve their lives. Her unofficial slogan, “be a helper, not a hater,” reflects her belief in the power of sharing knowledge and empowering others. She understands the importance of advocacy, especially for children who often lack a voice. Brittany strives to ensure that individuals who don’t speak English receive the help and resources they deserve.
Brittany’s business is truly a family affair. You’ll often see Brittany’s daughter Amira right by her side. Learning the ropes and gaining valuable insight into the world of work. Brittany believes in instilling a strong work ethic and building confidence from a young age, emphasizing the significance of understanding the value of volunteering and being actively involved in the business.
Aim to Inspire Meliorism has grown significantly since its inception, with a primary focus on community liaison services. Brittany’s vision is to provide one-on-one support to individuals from all walks of life, irrespective of their financial status.
